Hollywood of the East Vs Traditional East

Once upon a time in India; and that was not too long ago, skimpy wear was uncommon. Well, i am not referring to mumbai or delhi. Bollywood did have short stints of flesh from likes of Dimple kapadias and Parvin babi. But the chain of flaunting flesh started with Bips. After that Mallika Sherawat took it a newer height.. Then on sporting sexy dresses or skin has been a norm in the movies with Sania Mirzas, Tanushree Duttas.

Has an Indian woman wearing traditional dress? or an indian muslim wearing burkha discussed for her attire? Question comes, why would we ever discuss that.. thats normal.. isnt it !!!

Perhaps not.. Not in Egypt!

In the country that proudly calls itself the "Hollywood of the East," a group of actresses has touched off a furor by appearing on television and movies with a new look: the conservative Islamic veil.

Now that's impressive ! However, unlike India, Egypt is moving opposite.. Woman earlier not wearing hijab or higab are now moving towards it. The form of "wearing the veil" in Egypt is known as higab or hijab. It includes a headscarf and a loose-fitting, long-sleeved top and pants or a long skirt. The most conservative -- and far less common -- form of veil is niqab, a face-covering veil, usually black, that leaves only the eyes uncovered. The actresses have adopted the higab, which lets the face show.

Moving towards conservatism !!! thats even more impressive.. or is it??

P.s. The contents of this are published after reading an article from WSJ.. though ideas and the analogy introduced project my thoughts..

The Pink Panther

The Pink Panther
Pink Panther has been known to me since the first time my dad came from his onsite trip then from Riyadh. He had brought along lovely cartoons VCR cassettes. That was way back in 1987, when there was no cable TV and it was the first time we were incident to something called Cartoons. We enjoyed the ever going chase of Tom & Jerry, goofy, mickey n minney, heroics of Superman, Spiderman (I always liked the Spidey more. ;-) ), Pluto and The Pink Panther.

In adulthood, I have rarely been watch cartoons, but seems like the Pink Panther is back. Now in the form of a Movie.

It's a lovely lovely movie. You just keep laughing since the time movie starts till it end.. in some 1 hour 28 minutes.

The goofy character Steve Martin is just so funny..

Thank Jay, my cousin, to first send & recommend it to me. Since then, I have seen it 4 times. Once just me, 2nd time during the flight back to India, 3rd time with friends, and 4th time with Family. :-)

you just cant miss the

"it is lovely weather we are having; I hope the weather stays this mild."

or the

'good one'

A 4.xx star movie.. a must watch .. :-)
